ABOUT

Tanya attended Abilene Christian University for her undergraduate work with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2011.  Tanya's experience includes working in public schools, private schools, private practice, home health, outpatient rehabilitation, and skilled nursing facilities. She started the outpatient pediatric speech therapy clinic at Odessa Regional Medical Center in June of 2014, before starting her own private practice. She has experience in working with a variety of neurogenic and acquired diseases and disorders that affect speech, language, swallowing, and cognition. She also evaluates and treats disorders related to orofacial myofunctional disorders, pediatric feeding and swallowing, apraxia, receptive/expressive language disorders, fluency, dysphagia, and pragmatic language disorders in pre-school children, school-aged children, and adults.

 

Tanya also provides education to the public and brings awareness to the field of speech pathology and its benefit to improve the quality of life.

 

Tanya holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA), is a member of the Texas Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (TSHA) and a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).  Tanya also has the distinction of being one of the few Certified Orofacial Myologists in Texas that also has a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, an unparalleled combination of degrees and certification which allows her to provide the most advanced and comprehensive treatment, as most patients with speech issues also have orofacial myofunctional issues.
